The UNODC Programme Office in Indonesia (POIDN) works with the Government of Indonesia (GoI), civil society stakeholders and donor partners to support the implementation of strategies and effective interventions to enhance the criminal justice system’s responses to a myriad of challenges. The focus of this work is guided by UNODC mandates and GOI priorities.
The UNODC Programme Office in Indonesia seeks to recruit a National Programme Officer (NPO) for Prison Reform and Crime Prevention, who will support the implementation of related UNODC activities in Indonesia. The NPO will be responsible for ensuring the consistent implementation of prison reform activities in Indonesia, particularly on the use of alternative to imprisonment to reduce prison population, the prevention of radicalisation to violence in correctional settings, management of violent extremist offenders, and rehabilitation and social reintegration of offenders to reduce recidivism. The NPO will also be expected to support activities related to SDG 16.3.2 on ensuring access to justice for all.
The National Programme Officer will perform his/her duty under the direct supervision of the Criminal Justice Programme Coordinator, as the first reporting officer, and under the guidance of the UNODC Country Manager, as the second reporting officer. The NPO will also receive and act on requests for assistance from regional/global UNODC initiative having activities in Indonesia and/or elsewhere in the region with direction from the Programme Coordinator and the Country Manager.
