Bachelor’s degree in political science, social science, international studies, public administration, economics, engineering, earth sciences or a related field is required. Related military or civil defence experience would be considered.
5 years of progressively responsible experience in humanitarian affairs, emergency preparedness, crisis/emergency relief management, rehabilitation, development, or a complex emergency or military related area is required.
Experience in the UN Common System is desirable. Experience in the Middle East region is desirable. Experience in the military, complex emergency, or peacekeeping mission is desirable. Experience in information management, particularly database systems, is required. Excellent communication skills that can contribute to advocacy and high-level communications.
Language Requirements: Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
Assessment: Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.
