National Human Rights Officer – Asuncion

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
Advanced university degree (Masters or equivalent) in law, political sciences, international relations, social sciences or any other discipline related to human rights.  A first level University degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced University degree.  

Work Experience:
At least 2 years of progressively professional experience at national and/or international levels in the human rights field.  Candidates who have a first level University degree must have a minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible professional experience.

Experience with the application/review of international human rights standards, instruments and mechanisms and mainstreaming human rights in public policy and programs is an asset.

Prior experience with United Nations or other international organization will be an advantage.

Languages:
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency (written and spoken) in both Spanish and English is required.
