• Spanish goalkeeper ‘not selected’ for four-match trip to United States
• Antalyaspor interested in 33-year-old but agent has dismissed link
Víctor Valdés’ future at Manchester United has been thrown into doubt after he was omitted from Louis van Gaal’s squad for the tour of the United States that began on Monday.
The goalkeeper is David de Gea’s deputy and potential replacement should the latter depart for Real Madrid this summer. However rather than be left out due to injury Valdes was “not selected”, sources at United confirmed on Tuesday. For Van Gaal to leave him behind in this manner suggests Valdes’ future at the club is in the balance.
